Boulder's Pearl Street open-air walking mall best captures the local flavor of Boulder. Many of the recommended restaurants are clustered along or near Pearl Street. The two hotels Boulderado and St Julien are located one block from Pearl Street, as is the dinner banquet site of the Walnut Brewery. Pearl Street is a short 15-20 minute walk from the Millenium hotel along the Boulder Creek Bike Path.
A recent addition to Boulder is the Twenty-Ninth Street shopping area, full of brand-new shops and eating establishments, primarily national brands like California Pizza Kitchen, also in the style of an open air walking mall. The Millenium is a short 5 minute walk to this area, though across two of the busiest streets in Boulder, namely 28th street and Arapahoe. Driving is preferable, certainly from the Boulderado and St Julien.
